about Spirituality, Masters and highest Wisdom from the land of rishis, seekers and enlightened beings, India

1_edited_edited.jpg

india is a land where people have been involved in the search of truth for milennia.

people inquired about realizing the truth. they did not read about it but they immersed themselves in the search. so spirituality became a direct experience, not a belief.

while the rest of the world was busy advancing in OUTER material achievements, india was busy inquiring about the self and the inner truth. that is why spirituality in india has such a depth, because it was always related to the search of truth, not religion or philosophy.

"India is not just a geography or history. It is not only a nation, a country, a mere piece of land. It is something more: it is a metaphor, poetry, something invisible but very tangible. It is vibrating with certain energy fields that no other country can claim.

For almost ten thousand years, thousands of people have reached to the ultimate explosion of consciousness. Their vibration is still alive, their impact is in the very air; you just need a certain perceptivity, a certain capacity to receive the invisible that surrounds this strange land." - osho

the vedas contain information that suggest that the ancient rishis knew more about the nature of the universe and reality than can be expressed or explained with words.

a rishi is a seer, a radiant being who is 'connected' and can receive and transmit true knowledge. the rishis were also the ones who perceived the sounds of mantra.

in india earnest seekers in the path learn from the master. the one who has already seen, the awakened one, the yogi, the wise one. he is the guide towards the higher self. we consider the spiritual guru higher than god himself, because the guru is the one who can help us show us the way to god. god in the sense of spirituality is consciousness, awareness, the connection with the eternal source which was never born and never dies.

the master will appear when the seeker (or disciple) is ready. many people desperate to find a guru, make the mistake of ending up with fake gurus because they search in the wrong places. there is no need to search, the need is to work on oneself, and when the being is ready and mature, the master appears in the most unbelievable and unexpected ways. but the seeker has to be thirsty and must do the inner work.

spirituality is simple. complicated philosophies and theories are not part of the world of indian spirituality. my master used to say, "the spiritual is the most practical" meaning that if spirituality is not reflected in actions and higher awareness, then it is just words. also the guidelines of the wise ones may be simple, but many times the seeker does not have the tenacity to follow. "words are just words, reality is silent." sri n. maharaj

there have been many enlightened beings in india, even today. some are visible but most of them are hidden and hard to find. they live a life of simplicity and meditation. when we talk about meditation, we don't mean withdrawal but a 'state' of meditation: the understanding of the true state of being. this wisdom can be shared by very simple talks and saying of the masters. if one is open enough, awaken enough, their message can be a true inspiration and revelation in the life of a spiritual seeker.

through the quotes, books and short videos shared in this page, one may be able to get a glimpse of the true essence of spirituality from india, the land of the awakened beings, the land of those who have been always in the search of the true essence of the self, the natural state of being, sahaj atma.

if you understand even a little, you will see that a lot of things people are doing in the name of spiritual awakening are just passing-time and even childish and misleading. true spirituality requires working on oneself, silently and sincerely. under the guidance of a wise one, whoever that being may be.

"when you become fully conscious, then nothing is automatic."

"start ! don't be afraid of failure"

in india, once we are connected to a guru, we don't jump from one place to the other. we remain. people who don't want to go deeper or sacrifice effort would be leaving soon. but that is ok, because those are the people who are not interested in the ultimate transformation: freedom from the self. in my case my first guru at the age of seven was osho and when he left the body, about twenty years later, i continued to journey with gurudev, my lifetime guru till today. the communication with a guru is very subtle, sometimes for weeks or months you don't event get to talk with him, but if you're surrounded by his energy and observe attentively his attitude, the learning and growth will happen.

some books below are some of my highest choice if someone would like to dive into the world of highest spirituality and learn practically from it, not just leaving it in words. as my master says, "if you understand what is being said, you don't need to continue reading or hearing to anybody" so it is important to also be careful not to become a "book person" instead of putting these treasures in practice in real life. real life is the true testing field. reading in a cozy sofa by a fireplace will certainly give beautiful moments but at some point it must come into real life, at some point the journey begins, and never ends.

UG maintains that the so-called enlightenment is a purely biological phenomenon - that only when one is completely free of cultural conditioning, religious thinking, and intellect, can the body, with its own extraordinary intelligence, get free to be in the 'natural' state.

Tweedie documents her five-year process of purification and inner work with the heart in the "Naqshbandi" or "Golden Sufi" tradition: the daily doubts, agonies, discomforts, culture shocks, terrors, bodily states, uncertainties, and ecstasies along the path to truth.

The Bhagavad Gita is one of the main universal books on spirituality, yoga and India's all--time wisdom. Yet remarkably, the setting for this best-known classic of spiritual literature is an ancient Indian battlefield. At the last moment before entering battle, the great warrior Arjuna begins to wonder about the real meaning of his life. Probably also the greatest study on human psychology ever written. A must read.

When things turn out to be the way we want, we are happy. When life does not follow our plans, we complain with God and curse... In this book, Osho shows us the key which unlocks the door to 'desireless action.'

be as you are

Ramana Maharshi was one of the most significant spiritual teachers to emerge from India during the first half of the century, and remains widely admired. This recent collection of conversations between him and the many seekers who came to his ashram for guidance contains the essence of his teaching. His concern throughout his long life of imparting his experience to others was to convince his listeners that self-realisation – or enlightenment – is not an alien or mysterious state, but the natural condition of man.

Be as you are.

Ramana Maharshi

"The day you know "what you are", everything becomes peaceful, silent, bliss prevails."

"Just see. Unfocused. Slowly, slowly you will start seeing, you will start realizing "that which is" and the story will be over. And you will start enjoying the mystery."

"To an awakened one, "i" is a tool. Deep down he knows very well there's no such thing as "i."

"what you are searching is here and now"

"When you don't know what to choose, show total involvement in everything. Then life will choose and it's never wrong."

sharing the wisdom of the awakened ones is like giving a gift to the world, to those who are interested in the real spirituality, the path of truth, the path that requires inner transformation.

many of these wise people remain hidden. If you find like me a true master, you got a treasure worth more than anything in the material world and the biggest blessing of many lifetimes.

if one is ready, when one encounters an enlightened being, it can be a true transformation, but one has to be ready, otherwise it is just more words. that's why my master used to ask us constantly, "why are you here, do you know what do you want"

The seeker is he who is in search of himself. Give up all questions except one: ‘Who am I?’ After all, the only fact you are sure of is that you are. The ‘I am’ is certain. The ‘I am this’ is not.

Struggle to find out what you are in reality. To know what you are, you must first investigate and know what you are not. Discover all that you are not -- body, feelings thoughts, time, space, this or that -- nothing, concrete or abstract, which you perceive can be you. The very act of perceiving shows that you are not what you perceive.

The clearer you understand on the level of mind you can be described in negative terms only, the quicker will you come to the end of your search and realize that you are the limitless being.

Spirituality and Music

The understanding of merging the beauty of Indian music with spirituality is a learning which one earns by being in the company of the wise ones.

There are no specific courses for that. Also listening to a lot of (right) music in this direction helps building a vision to create such m
usic.

It may help if one has a spiritual guide or a Guru, who also under
stands the potential of music on the path of spirituality.
