There are 24 different Gayatri Mantras, but the main one and most popular is

Savitur Gayatri, derived from her name Savitri.

ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः
तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥

Om Bhuur-Bhuvah Svah
Tat-Savitur-Varennyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhiimahi
Dhiyo Yo Nah Pracodayaat ||

Savitur is the name of both the Sun and the Divine Mother. The worship of the Sun is also worshiping Goddess Gāyatri. The Sun before sunrise is called Savitr, and after sunrise until sunset it is called Sūrya. Savitr is venerated in the RigVeda, the oldest component of the Vedic scriptures appearing in verse RV 3.62.10, from where it derives the Gayatri Mantra.

So this mantra venerates the Sun and the Divine Mother both. Gayatri is the source of light for consciousness, the origin of all our spiritual and intellectual knowledge.

As mantra practice, practicing it 108 times each day with a rudraksha mala is suggested. At a more advance stage, you can also chant this mantra mentally wherever you are and whenever you find a quiet moment. If the practice is correct, these may be some of the benefits derived from Gayatri Sadhana (practice) : helps focus and concentration, removes toxins, improves breathing, the heart and the nervous system, calms the mind, soothens anxiety. It is a good practice to be done before sunrise and sunset; approximately between 4am/pm and 8am/pm.

Duration 7'46" - Perfect for listening to mantra Meditation.
